AU representative attends human rights conference in Tashkent

AKFA University representative took part in the conference “Education in the field of Human Rights in Uzbekistan: from planning to realization”, which took place in Tashkent on 10-11 December 2021.

The event was attended by Akmal Saidov, first deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rishard Komenda, Regional Representative of the UN Office for Human Rights in Central Asia (OHCHR), Yevgeniy Kolenko, Director of the Academy of General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan and representatives of other governmental and non-governmental organizations.

AKFA University was represented by Dr. Bekhzod Abdullaev, a member of the UN Youth Advisory Board and head of the Department of Scientific development and international relations of the university.

During the conference, the participants discussed education in human rights, adoption of a national plan of action for human rights education, international practice and its implementation into the country.

In the second session “Improving training system for teaching staff in the field of human rights and support for scientific research” was discussed.

After this session, AKFA University administration adopted its official position for human rights in the educational process and agreed to support scientific research in this topic.
