AKFA University attends UNODC-backed conference on youth issues
Staff members of the international relations department of AKFA University took part in the conference “Regional network of youth organizations and youth leaders for change for the benefit of society in Central Asia”, which was organized by the UNODC and Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan.
Ashita Mittal, United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative to Central Asia, Ivan Prokopenko, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Tashkent, Jakhongir Karimov, expert of Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, Farrukh Omonov, Deputy Director of Youth Affairs Agency, Shakhnoza Joldasova, chairperson of Youth Parliament under the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, and other officials of UN agencies attended the event.
Head of the Department of Scientific Development of AKFA University and member of the UN Youth Advisory Board Dr Bekhzod Abdullaev briefed the participants on future plans of one of the first private universities in Uzbekistan.
During the conference, there were also negotiations between officials of the AKFA University, Youth Parliament and NGOs to improve capacity of youth and new regional initiatives.
